Bio
Born in Birmingham, I have lived in random areas around that city and then moved to Huntsville in 1999. My job, my career, and one of my passions is teaching university level English classes at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. I love my students and my fellow faculty members; they keep me young and excited about going into the classroom everyday.

I am a liberal, pop-culture-mad, know-it-all whatever. I drive an SUV (Toyota 4Runner), love Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gilmore Girls, and am a major consumer of pop culture. I appeared on Jeopardy! in 2006, finishing second. However, I am Unitarian Universalist, I tend to stay away from trendy clothing if possible, and I don't plan on ever becoming one of those Madison moms, driving my one (maybe two) kids around in a car too big and too pricey for a kid car.

I married my wonderful Jamie in October 2004. In addition to being the greatest husband ever, he is an engineer, a gamer, and possesses two M.S. degrees (one more than me!). He is also a wonderful dad to our little one.

I gave birth to my son Jackson in November 2007. He came out with an unexpected head of hair and beautiful blue-grey eyes. His current likes are eating, sleeping, and soiling diapers at inconvenient times. He is the light of my life and I absolutely love looking at him all of the time. I can't wait to see who he becomes!

My immediate goal is a Ph.D. and a full-time teaching job. Eventually, I plan on writing books and teaching while being the best mom I can be to my child(ren). Hopefully, one day, I'll have an Oscar on my mantle and movies made of my books. In the meantime, though, I think I'll enjoy the great existence I have now.
